Rhythm of Life Community Concert - another great success!
On Saturday 12th July 2025 West Byfleet Community Choir hosted their second Community Concert, Rhythm of Life, at St John’s Church, West Byfleet - entry was by donation with profits going to White Lodge.
We were delighted to showcase the talents of West Byfleet Junior School Choir, St John’s adult and children’s choirs, the amazing talents of Yash a young piano scholar who accompanied the choirs and played some wonderful solo pieces, and Ian and Stephanie who played beautiful organ duets.
Once again the evening was slickfully and seamlessly compered by the wonderful Victoria Hollins, thank you! A big thank you to Andrew Broadbent (WBCC Musical Director), Jayne Parkin (pianist) and Ian Church (MD fo St John’s Church Choir).
Thank you to everyone who came, watched, helped set up, donated, sang and participated. We made a very small profit which we will be adding to and donating to our chosen charity White Lodge.

Christmas 2023
What a festive time!! We were delighted to once more be included in the Christmas Festival at St John’s Church. The theme was “Wreaths” and our Choir team created a beautiful Ukraine Carol wreath which had a QR code taking you to the Choir singing the Ukraine carol. We sang in the church on 12th December.
We also sang at the West Byfleet Christmas Light Switch on, which was a fantastic event and entertained the residents of Charrington Manor with some Christmas songs!
Summer 2023 - Open Rehearsal
We started off the summer with the idea of holding a Midsummer Medley concert in July at Fullbrook School. This was all organised to be an evening cafe style concert with drinks and nibbles, but unfortunately the tickets just didn’t sell! We think everyone was feeling the cost of living pinch! So we ended up having a last minute open rehearsal at our last summer evening meeting, inviting friends and family, for free, to come and listen to us. We were overwhelmed by the number that came and the lovely feedback and as it was such a successful and enjoyable event we are going to repeat it in the future. Thank you to everyone who supported us! Next time we will organise drinks and a donations bucket for charity!!
Saying Goodbye!
Very sadly in January 2023 we had to say goodbye to our dear choir member and friend, Carol, who sadly passed away. We gave her a lovely send off by singing her favourite choir songs - Vicar of Dibley version of “ The Lord is my Shepherd” and “Somewhere” from West Side Story at her funeral. Carol always giggled when we sang “The Lord is my Shepherd” because it reminded her of the Vicar of Dibley episode when Dawn French falls into an enormous puddle.
We also helped our Choir Master, Andrew, say goodbye to his beloved mother in 2023 by singing for her at her funeral.
